Ontario County IDA Board of Directors

Michael Manikowski, Executive Director, IDA
Mr. Manikowski brings more than 35 years of experience in economic development to his role as executive director of the Ontario County IDA. He has served in his current role since 1985, and before that, was involved in economic development in the Southern Tier Region of New York State. Mr. Manikowski is the chairman of the board of directors for the New York State Economic Development Council, a statewide group that represents IDAs and is the secretary of the board of directors for the Cornell Agriculture and Food Technology Park, otherwise known as the Technology Farm, in Geneva. He has a bachelor’s degree from Mansfield University and conducted post-graduate work at both the University of Arizona and Cornell University.

Christopher J. Jennings, Chairman, IDA Board of Directors
Mr. Jennings is vice president of Vance Metal Fabricators Inc. in Geneva, Ontario County. He has served as a director of the IDA board since 2001 and has served as chairman since 2008. Mr. Jennings also serves on several community boards, including Geneva Growth. He earned the Citizen of the Year award from the Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce in 2003. Mr. Jennings has a bachelor’s degree in history from Trinity College.

David Reh, Member, IDA Board of Directors
Mr. Reh is chairman of Gorbel Inc., a job and crane manufacturer in Fishers, and Retrotech Inc., an automated warehouse firm, and president of the Raytec Group, which provides administrative services. He is also owner of Ravenwood Golf Club in Victor. Mr. Reh is an active community member, serving on the boards of Excellus Inc. and Rochester Blue Cross/Blue Shield, the Finger Lakes Foundation of Finger Lakes Community College, and the Clarkson University Business Leadership Council. He has a bachelor’s degree from Clarkson University, and an MBA from the University of Rochester.

Michael Davis, member, IDA Board of Directors
Mr. Davis is one of two new members of the IDA board, starting his service in spring 2009. He has served as a membership development coordinator with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 840 since 2005 and before that, was foreman at O’Connell Electric. He has nearly 20 years of experience as an electrician. Mr. Davis is a trustee and recording secretary of the IBEW Local 840 board, is an authorized OSHA 30 instructor and has been involved in youth athletics for 25 years. He is a graduate of Midlakes High School, completed his five-year electrician apprenticeship with IBEW Local 840 in Geneva, and has received numerous certifications throughout his career, including recent craft certification training.

Laura H. Pederson, member, IDA Board of Directors
Ms. Pederson is one of two new members of the IDA board, beginning service in spring 2009. She is co-owner and financial manager of Pederson Farms Inc., where she oversees all financial management, as well as production and marketing, for the large diversified vegetable, grain and hog farm. Ms. Pederson serves on the boards of the Town of Seneca Planning Board, Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Committee, and Ag Affiliates. Ms. Pederson is also a former member of the board of the Ontario County Farm Bureau, where she served as president from 2007 to 2008. She has a bachelor’s degree in biology from St. Lawrence University and a master’s degree in professional studies, with a major in plant protection, from Cornell University.
