New Energy Works

New Energy Works has been one of the nation's pre-eminent timber frame builders for more than 20 years. The company provides timber frame design, fine woodworking, timber frame enclosure services utilizing and some of the most elegant and lyrical timber frames in the industry. New Energy Works is based in a renovated bowling alley in Farmington, NY.

Project:
In 2008, New Energy Works needed to build an addition onto its facility and purchase equipment to continue to grow its business.

Incentives:
The Ontario County IDA and Ontario County provided support and assistance to help New Energy Works expand its facility.

Outcome:

  • Retained 87 jobs
  • Created 12 jobs
  • Invested $1.4 million

Zotos International

Zotos International, a professional beauty industry leader that manufactures and markets a full range of hair care, texture service and hair-color options for salons and salon professionals, has had a strong presence in the Finger Lakes Region for nearly 100 years. Its only manufacturing location in the world is in Ontario County. This highly vertically integrated site even creates and screen prints product bottles and containers at its single location.

The Ontario County IDA and Ontario County is currently helping the company with temporary tax abatements and Revolving Loan Fund assistance that have retained 284 jobs and created 50 new positions.
