Seneca County IDA

Local values. Forward vision.

"Local Values. Forward vision." It’s our approach at the Seneca County Industrial Development Agency (SCIDA). We personalize our financial incentives and related support to make it simple for businesses to locate and expand in Seneca County. With our broad range of knowledge and aggressive attention to detail, SCIDA helps companies explore and discover opportunities in Seneca County — and then we put the details in place for a smooth, simple transition and long-term success in the new or expanded location.

In the past five years, SCIDA has:

  • Instituted a strong Empire Zone program
  • Provided PILOT Increment Financing resulting in infrastructure development (water/sewer) that now serves both the projects and the community at large
  • Enabled redevelopment efforts at the former Seneca Army Depot including public projects (Five Points, Seneca County Jail, state trooper training facilities), private investment (Finger Lakes Technology Group, Top Quality Hay Processors, Advantage Group), and Not-for-Profits (Hillside Children’s Center)
  • Aided growth of tourism and wine industries
  • Supported development of Deer Run Industrial Park

Top three industries

SCIDA has identified three strategic industries for the Seneca County region. We focus our efforts on growing and attracting the following sectors:

  • Manufacturing
  • Tourism/Retail
  • Healthcare and social assistance

A success story

ITT/Goulds has continued to grow at its Seneca County location. The company currently employs more than 1,000 people. SCIDA has continuously supported ITT/Goulds growth in partnership with other state and local economic development agencies.
