BonaDent Dental Laboratories, a full-service laboratory creating crowns, dentures, partials and dental implant restorations, needed a larger headquarters for its growing company. After 60 years in Auburn, NY, the company was looking for space to build a facility with a training center and state-of-the-art production laboratory.
Incentives:
BonaDent needed significant financial assistance in order to move to Seneca County. SCIDA made the decision to move to Seneca Falls easy for BonaDent with a comprehensive sale/leaseback package, help securing low cost loans and Empire Zone benefits.
Outcome:
In 2000, BonaDent relocated its entire operations to Seneca Falls. Here, they constructed a new 36,000-square-foot facility with a hands-on training center, cutting-edge 90-seat continuing-education auditorium, large production laboratory, fitness center, spacious conference room, in-house restaurant and day care center.
As a result of its move to Seneca Falls, BonaDent invested over $11 million into the local economy and created 150 jobs.
Hillside Children’s Center, an affiliate of the Hillside Family of Agencies, is a provider of care for youth and families with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, or life circumstance challenges. To increase its service coverage area across the state, Hillside needed to find a location for a residential mental health and child welfare service facility in Seneca County.
Incentives:
Hillside needed access to low cost financing in order to invest in a residential facility on the former Seneca Army Depot property in the town of Varick, Seneca County.
Outcome:
SCIDA provided tax-exempt bonds and was an instrumental partner in helping Hillside acquire its campus at the former Seneca Army Depot in Varick. As a result of this joint effort, Hillside created 346 jobs at its Varick site and invested $14 million into the community.
